A man has been seriously injured after falling off a beach promenade after an altercation.
Police were alerted by ambulance services at around 9.25pm on Thursday 11 August of a man in cardiac arrest on Brighton Palace Pier.
Testimonies say the man was involved in an altercation before he fell off the promenade.
Two other men were identified by police at the scene and arrested on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm.
“Initial investigations revealed that the man fell from a railing onto the promenade below,” said a police spokesman.
“He was stabilized by paramedics and taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.”
The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
A large number of police officers and vehicles were spotted near Brighton Palace Pier following the incident.
Investigations have since been launched against the two arrested men.
