A man was furious at delivery service Evri when a PS4 he was selling arrived at his buyer’s as an ASOS clothing delivery.

Liam O’Rourke sold the PS4 and PSVR headset on eBay and shipped them to Sheffield and London a month ago.

But he was shocked when people who bought his gaming set told him that instead of the expensive tech items, they got an Asos t-shirt and a Boohoo jacket.

Evri has since apologized, paid a “goodwill gesture” and said “they sometimes get things wrong”, but Liam was far from impressed, he reports SurreyLive.

After leaving the gadgets at a co-op in Surrey , a delivery point of the delivery company Evri, formerly Hermes, both pieces of hardware never landed at their destination. This has resulted in him having to pay back both buyers and having a protracted battle with Evri to get her to refund the items.

While Liam has since refunded the PS4, the company insisted the VR headset was not covered as it contained a camera. After negotiating with Evry, he was told he would receive that refund by the end of the week, but he hit out at the delivery service and said they needed to get the issue under control.

He said: “The guy who brought the PS4 said ‘where’s my PS4’, I said ‘well I sent it’. I logged into my Evri apartment and saw that the package was slightly deformed by the person’s feet. I told him it was delivered and he said ‘why did you send a jacket?’.

“Both buyers thought I overdid it. I had to justify myself and say to them, ‘Look folks, this happened to people in Sheffield and London, it’s not me’. Both said it was like that for their sons while missing a birthday and having to Buy another one.

“They were both really bad. I was trying to get the money from Evri so I wasn’t out of pocket but eBay just took the money. I had about £250 out of pocket. I was planning to use the money to pay for some decorations at home and instead I had to reallocate money to make that payment.”

While Liam, who lives in the West End, has since had the PS4 refunded, the company insisted the VR headset was not covered as it contained a camera. After negotiations with Evri He was told he would receive that refund by the end of the week, but hit out at the delivery service and said they needed to get the problem sorted out.

In response to his comments, a spokesman for Evri said: “We successfully deliver 700 million packages every year and occasionally things sometimes go wrong. We spoke to the customer and a goodwill has already been paid .”
