Ronaldo sends warning

McClaren’s Man Utd solution

Steve McClaren has clearly had his eye on Manchester United this season – and it could pay off if the former England manager takes over as Erik ten Hag’s number two.

Ten Hag was McClaren’s assistant when he first took charge of FC Twente in 2008 and their roles could now be reversed as Ten Hag insists he would like his former boss to join him at Old Trafford. And McClaren would arrive with a clear vision of what is needed at the club.

After United’s 4-1 win over Man City at the Etihad in March, McClaren addressed the club’s underperforming stars when he said the players had “stopped running for each other”. And Ten Hag’s potential assistant also explained that the club ‘need to get the bad guys out of the dressing room’.
