Ronaldo not in Neville’s Manchester XI
Ronaldo has been linked with a move Manchester City over the summer before his sensational return to Old Trafford, but United have not been close to leaders City this season.
Neville was asked by colleague Micah Richards if he would include his former team-mate in a combined eleven, but the 47-year-old had no place for the Portuguese star.
Trait Rooney shares with Ferguson
Wayne Rooney had a lot to do in his short but dramatic time as manager.
And Louis Saha compared one aspect of his skills to that of the great Sir Alex Ferguson.
Rooney played under Fergie for nine years and later became one of the all-time greats at Old Trafford, ending his career as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Despite the off-field dramas in Derby County, the former England skipper has garnered plenty of praise – with Saha being particularly impressed.
Ronaldo “would score more at City”
Peter Barnes, one of just 34 players to have played for both City and United, believes Ronaldo would have thrived on the Manchester blue side under Pep Guardiola.
Ronaldo has scored 15 goals in his second spell at United which hijacked his planned move to City last summer with crucial intervention from his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
