Rio Ferdinand has answered Wayne Rooneyclaims he is “arrogant”.
Rooney roasted some of his former ones Manchester United Colleagues at a gala dinner on Saturday night. The former Old Trafford colleagues played together under Sir Alex Ferguson for a number of years – and Ferdinand has hit back after Rooney’s recent comments.
It comes as Harry Maguire was booed by English fans ahead of his country’s friendly against Ivory Coast on Tuesday night. Elsewhere, Ralf Rangnick will have a lasting impact on the club First League when he leaves his role as interim United manager this summer.

Rangnick’s legacy
The Manchester United interim manager could make a lasting mark on the Premier League if he changes roles in the summer.
Rangnick will take on an advisory role with the Old Trafford team at the end of the season when a new manager is appointed. But he could make his mark after coming up with an idea for Premier League officials to train with clubs, which is reportedly being considered.
The United Interim suggested referees and players train together to improve their relationships and the idea was supported by other managers and officials.
Maguire booed
Harry Maguire’s name was greeted by a loud boo from the crowd at Wembley Stadium when it was announced ahead of the friendly between England and Ivory Coast.
There also seemed to be sneering at the Manchester United defender on his first touches of the ball after kick-off. Maguire has been criticized for his performances in a Red Devils shirt this season as his side struggled for consistency on the pitch.
And it seems England fans have joined United supporters in questioning Maguire’s place in their starting XI.
Rio hits back at Rooney claims
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has responded to Wayne Rooney’s claim that he was “arrogant” by saying the pair were “always fighting”.
Accordingly The sunDerby County boss Rooney said at a black tie event on Saturday night: “Rio is a top player but he’s just arrogant. They get paid big bucks at Man Utd to kick the ball in the net, so just do it. I said, ‘Do your job and give me the ball, give [Cristiano] ronaldo the ball. Stop standing around and fooling around. Rio is a top kid but he sometimes forgot he was a defender.”
