Manchester United are less than a week away from bringing down the curtain on their dreadful Premier League season this season as they desperately try to get to the summer transfer window where they can begin their much-anticipated rebuild.

Paul Pogba is one of the players expected to leave this summer but has already drawn a transfer battle between two European heavyweights for his signature, while new manager Erik ten Hag has been advised to sign a certain star from West Ham United to take one to solve his problems in the squad.

Pogba’s exit draws closer amid a new transfer battle

Manchester United star Paul Pogba is at the center of a transfer battle between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus after opening talks with both clubs after deciding to leave United as a free this summer after ending his second spell at Old Trafford to leave agent.

The French world champions’ contract with United expires next month and the 29-year-old has turned down the chance to sign a new one and extend his stay at the club. Despite an overwhelming six-year tenure at United, Pogba has no shortage of options and faces a choice between PSG and a return to former club Juventus.

Desperate to win the Champions League, PSG believe Pogba could help them finally conquer Europe after taking over three superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. But Juve, who sold Pogba to United for £89m in 2016, are also in negotiations with Pogba in hopes of luring him back to Turin.

Ten Hag advised signing Bowen to resolve the issue

Erik ten Hag has been urged to snap up West Ham star Jarrod Bowen to solve Manchester United’s problems down the right flank of his attack as part of the mammoth build-up that awaits him at Old Trafford.

And Andy Townsend has dubbed Bowen the perfect solution to United’s right-wing conundrum. The 25-year-old has been in tricky form for the Hammers this year, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists – and Townsend believes Bowen would be perfect to oversee the rebuild at Old Trafford.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Townsend said: “Jarrod Bowen was great. He’s been so good lately. Tell you what, I bet West Ham get a bid or two for him in the summer, I bet they do. would you have him at Manchester United? How a shot would you. He can play anywhere. I’ve seen him play down the middle for West Ham on one side. For United, he would come into the team wherever he wants! I would play against him from the right flank.”

Former Manchester United left-back Daley Blind has warned Premier League sides that Ajax will not accept a penny less than their asking price for Antony this summer as United have been linked with a move for the Brazilian wideman since Erik ten Hag was announced as the next permanent manager at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Andy van der Meijde on YouTube, Blind said: “Some players are already leaving for free, so I don’t think Ajax will let players go that easily. Next year you have to have a team that is back in the Champions League and fighting for the title. If the main price is paid for Haller or Antony then Ajax will accept that, but I don’t think Ajax want to sell many players. I hope most stay simple.”

Antony has shone at Ajax since arriving from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2020. The 22-year-old has made 79 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and assisting as many during that time.
