Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has sent Ralf Rangnick a clear piece of advice following Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence from Sunday’s derby.
Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both scored two goals each as City condemned rivals Manchester United for a modest 4-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium in the match. Premier League.
But superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo was not even in Manchester for the crunch match in a move that was supposed to surprise his United teammates.
And Guardiola even commented on the Portuguese forward’s absence when he appeared to give his counterpart Ralf Ranick a tip on how he should arrange his side.
It happened after Sir Alex Ferguson was harassed by a City of Manchester fans after the game.

A Manchester City fan harassed legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson after Sunday’s derby.
Sir Alex was in attendance for the Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium as he watched his former side get beaten 4-1.
But as he was on his way to his vehicle after the final whistle, Sir Alex was approached by a fan from the opposite direction who used the former United manager’s own words against him when he mocked the legend of the Red Devils.
Ronaldo ‘surprises’ teammates
Cristiano Ronaldo has ‘surprised’ his Manchester United teammates by not attending Sunday afternoon’s derby, it has been confirmed.
Ronaldo was ruled out of the game by the club’s doctor because of a hip injury which meant he also did not train with his teammates on the Friday before the game.
But instead of heading to the Etihad for the Manchester derby, reports say Ronaldo has flown back to his native Portugal – stunning his teammates.
And at least some in the United dressing room felt Ronaldo’s presence at the stadium “could be beneficial”.
Rangnick sent a tip
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has appeared to suggest that United could be more effective without Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad.
Ronaldo missed the final game through injury as his side fell 4-1 to their bitter opponents.
And in the words of the Man City boss, United were “overwhelmed” without their star – something his team wasn’t ready for before the game started.
And the Man City boss may have given Rangnick a tip on how best to position his team if they want to play the brand-imposed football the German is famous for.
