The man who exposed Jimmy Savile as a prolific pedophile has revealed there is another “untouchable” high-profile living sex offender he wants to take down.
Mark Williams-Thomas, Newsquest’s Corporate Investigations Editor, is best known for exposing Savile’s horrific crimes on the ITV documentary The Other Side of Jimmy Savile.
As a result of the documentary, police launched Operation Yewtree, a full-scale investigation into Savile’s crimes.
Savile escaped justice after he died in 2011 at the age of 84. However, former police detective Williams-Thomas has expressed concern that the same thing will happen again.
Speaking to inews, he said: “There are still people out there who are untouchable.
“There is one very significant person for whom I have done everything possible to prosecute because she is clearly a child sex offender.
“To date, the CPS will not press charges. The police and I tried very hard to get there.
“He will die in due course and then the floodgates will open, just as they did with Savile. That is not right. But justice takes many different forms.”
He added: “The truth is that no broadcaster would have done a show about Savile while he was alive.
“We live in a society where there are some people that are just no match for it, and that’s really sad.”
