Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund LIVE: Champions League updates – Erling Haaland meets old club

Manchester City are looking to take another step closer to the knockout rounds of the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund tonight. City dominated with an impressive 4-0 win over Sevilla in the group stage opener and another win tonight will put them in full control of Group G.

Borussia Dortmund also got off to a great start last Tuesday with a 3-0 win over FC Copenhagen, despite losing to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga at the weekend. The stakes are high when the teams meet at the Etihad and the winner moves to the top of the group and the result could come down to City striker Erling Haaland.

City activated Haaland’s 60-metre release clause earlier in the summer, which allowed him to leave Dortmund and join the Premier League side. To say he’s off to a great start is an understatement as the 21-year-old has scored 12 goals in eight appearances in all competitions so far this season. His two goals against Sevilla last week took his total to 25 in just 20 Champions League games, most of which came during his two and a half years at the German club. But will he let his old side suffer tonight?
