ALBION star Moises Caicedo sparks interest from other Premier League clubs.
The Ecuadorian has been in brilliant form since being brought into the team by manager Graham Potter last season.
The 20-year-old has already become a key member of Albion’s starting XI and his performances have taken away the need for the Seagulls to shell out the money to replace Yves Bissouma, who joined Tottenham Hotspur during the current transfer window.
As the youngster impresses week in and week out, he has started to win admirers in the Premier League. Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham have all been credited with being interested in the player.
There are even reports that the Red Devils are ‘in talks’ to try and land the midfielder. However, a deal is likely to be very difficult to secure, at least this summer, as Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth said Albion had given the player a “no intention to sell”.
The Old Trafford-based club were interested in signing Caicedo before he joined Albion as they scouted him out during his time with Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle, but chose Albion instead.
New manager Erik ten Hag has been desperate to refresh his squad this summer but failed with moves for Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong and Juventus’s Adrian Rabiot and now Caicedo looks set to be next on the Dutchman’s list.
Albion have raised almost £150million from player sales since last summer, with Ben White, Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma and Dan Burn all selling for sizeable fees.
The club have always said they won’t stand in players’ way when opportunities arise for them and the right deal can be struck, as evidenced by the sales of White, Bissouma and Cucurella.
While a deal for Caicedo could well be a possibility, it’s likely that Albion will demand a hefty transfer fee to consider a sale given the money the club has already brought in and the lack of time to secure a replacement with just two weeks left in the transfer window.
Caicedo has made 12 appearances for Albion, scoring one goal and providing two more assists. He was one of the standout players in the club’s season-opening win over Manchester United at Old Trafford as he dominated against their midfield.
