Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes his side are ready for Brighton
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Erik ten Hag believes his side are ready for the start of the season.
The new manager will hope his side can improve on their last season, which was the division’s worst on record.
The club had a mixed pre-season in terms of results, ending in a 1-1 home draw against La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
When asked about the pre-season campaign in general, the manager said he was happy with the times.
He said: “Overall definitely. I think we [have had] a good preseason.
“We’re making good progress. We’re ready for the season. I know there’s still room for improvement.
“We have to improve and that is also a process that continues throughout the season.
“But next week it’s also about the result.”
It remains to be seen what role superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will play in Ten Hag’s team.
The Portuguese forward is trying to persuade the club to move but has been unable to find a buyer.
He played the first half against Vallecano but that remains his only action in pre-season.
