Manhattan Project – Popcorn makers plan to add 1,900 sqm to Finglas warehouse
Irish snack company Manhattan, known for its peanuts and popcorn, is planning to expand its food production and warehouse facility in Finglas, Co. Dublin.
Last week, Manhattan submitted an application to Dublin City Council for planning permission for the expansion. It would include an additional floor area of more than 1,900 m².
Manhattan Peanuts is a wholly owned Irish family business employing over 50 people at its Finglas factory. The company manufactures and sells a line of snack foods, the fastest growing of which is popcorn.
The company was founded in 1957 and pioneered the American method of popping corn here in Ireland. Manhattan came to Finglas in 1977.
Other products in the Manhattan snack range include pistachios and Manhattan crisps.
