After climbing the sidewalk, the car drives into a group of people

A driver was arrested after climbing a pavement and driving his car into a group of people, with the shocking moment captured on camera.

Terrible CCTV footage shows people fleeing as Alpacino Veii’s car erratically crashed into them.

Some can be seen jumping out of the way in fear as the 25-year-old’s vehicle collided with a man, narrowly avoiding hitting several others.

The car crashed into a pavement near Brighton seafront before Veii drove along the pavement and into the median where the car stopped.

A group of people could be seen chasing the driver after he left carnage in East Sussex.

Despite his attempts to get out and push the vehicle, Veii was quickly arrested by police and found to be in possession of cannabis and only had a provisional license.

The driver’s actions were recorded by a video camera

Earlier, Veii was involved in a fight with three other men outside a restaurant, after which he left and returned to the same place in his Honda Civic.

Veii was sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to willfully induce GBH and 18 months in prison simultaneously for dangerous driving.

He was also sentenced to one day in prison for admitting possession of cannabis and had his license suspended for a year in Chichester Crown Court.

People ran for fear of being mowed down

Det Insp Neil Phillips said: “This was a shocking escalation of a dispute between a group of people that could easily have had tragic consequences for those involved and for innocent members of the public.

“It is gratifying to see that Alpacino Veii has been brought to justice for his reckless, dangerous assault and I would like to thank the victims and everyone involved in the investigation for their help in enforcing this verdict.”

He was jailed on February 23 for offenses committed in November 2019.
