The Georgia politician bid $100,000 to take home a tube of McCarthy’s used lipstick as an impromptu fundraiser took over a conference between House Republicans on Wednesday.

Beavers stated, “As the bidding process continued, McCarthy would sweeten the deal by agreeing to attend a donor/supporter dinner for the winner, Spox confirmed.”

Greene seemed quite happy with her new purchase, which she shared on social media after the auction.

However, Democrats were disgusted by the action.

MP Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) slammed the Republicans as she reminded voters of the upcoming debt ceiling deadline.

“They’re doing this insane shit while the country defaults,” she tweeted. “Wild.”

Omar’s colleague, Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.), noted how different Each party is struggling with a possible financial crisis.

“At today’s Democratic caucus meeting, we talked about how devastating a default would be for American families and what we can do to get Republicans to take this seriously,” he wrote. “At the GOP session in the House of Representatives, they auctioned off Kevin McCarthy’s used lipstick.”

Tuesday morning, McCarthy told the press He expressed optimism about a debt ceiling agreement to avoid a default, which some estimate could happen as early as June.
