The tributes to voice actor Kevin Conroy were paid by Batman: The Animated Series colleagues Mark Hamill, Diane Pershing and Tara Strong.
Onroy, best known for voicing Batman in the animated series, passed away on Thursday at the age of 66 after a brief battle with cancer, according to an announcement provided by DC Entertainment.
Stage, film and television actor – who has starred in Cheers, Murphy Brown, Spenser: For Hire and Matlock – has voiced the Dark Knight in 60 different productions from September 1992 onwards.
These include 15 films such as Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and 15 animated series, such as Batman: The Animated Series, which spanned nearly 400 episodes and over 100 hours of television, as well as video games.
Mark Hamill, who plays the Joker opposite Conroy’s Batman, said in a statement: “He’s one of my favorite people on the planet, and I love him like a brother.
“He really cares about the people around him – his decency shows in everything he does.
“Every time I see him or talk to him, my spirits are high.”
The 71-year-old actor, who is known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise and has also done a lot of voice work, added: “For generations, he’s been the real Batman. .
“It was one of those perfect scenarios where they got the exact right guy for the exact right part and the world was better for that.
“His rhythm and subtlety, timbre and delivery – all also help to inform my performance.
“He’s the ideal partner – it’s a complementary, creative experience.

Conroy was born on November 30, 1955 in Westbury, New York and raised in Westport, Connecticut.
He attended the Julliard School with Christopher Reeve, Frances Conroy, and roommate Robin Williams.
Conroy was also introduced as the real-life Bruce Wayne when DC Comics showed Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman featuring several crossover episodes.
Arrowverse’s Crisis On Infinite Earths event runs from 2019 to 2020.
Pershing, who plays Poison Ivy opposite Conroy, wrote on Facebook saying: “He really spent a lot of time on (Comic Con events), to the delight of all his fans. .
“He will be deeply missed not only by the cast of the series but by countless fans around the world.”
Tara Strong, who voices Batgirl, also paid tribute, saying: “I have no words. Not today. My heart was broken. There will never be another. He IS #Batman. “
Emmy Award-winning casting and dialogue director Andrea Roman, whose work includes Batman: The Animated Series, said in a statement: “Kevin is more than an actor that I’m delighted to be casting. and director – he was a close friend during 30+ years where kindness and generosity knew no boundaries.
“Kevin’s warm heart, delightful deep laughter and pure love of life will be with me forever.”
Conroy is survived by her husband Vaughn C Williams, sister Trisha Conroy and brother Tom Conroy.
