Mark Jackson has joined Los Angeles-based distribution company Human Re Sources as Vice President, Head of Human Re Sources, Atlanta.
The hire marks the company’s expansion into Atlanta, and the company will also open a community workspace in the city.
The workspace will house two recording studios that will be used by artists to record music and will provide a meeting and event space.
Jackson will report to J. Erving, Executive Vice President, The Orchard and CEO & Founder, Human Re Sources.
As the new head of Atlanta, Jackson will provide local expertise and, with support from The Orchard, will expand Human Re Sources’ roster of artist clients in the region.
Before joining Human Re Sources, Jackson ran the A&R department at Grand Hustle Records, founded by rapper TI
There he worked with artists such as Travis Scott, Trae tha Truth, Young Dro, Tokyo Jetz and Doe B.
In December 2020, Sony Music Entertainment acquired Human Re Sources. The company then became part of The Orchard’s global distribution and artist and label services brand.
Human Re Sources has signed and developed artists such as Brent Faiyaz, Cordae, YBN Nahmir, Pink Sweat$, Baby Rose, Bren Joy and added 2Tone and Grip, Jensen McRae and Grammy-nominated Ant Clemons to The Orchard’s roster.

In January, The Orchard appointed a number of senior positions in three African markets: South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.
Mpumi Phillips, Director of Distribution, will lead the company’s office in Johannesburg, South Africa, while Beth Achitsa has been appointed Artist & Label Relations Manager in Nairobi, Kenya.
Lagos-based Ikechukwu Onuorah has also been appointed Director for Nigeria after joining the company in 2020.music business worldwide
