Before collaborating with Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, and many others, Mark Ronson was a teenage DJ in downtown New York in the 1990s, a place and time he’ll look back on in an upcoming book.
The Oscar- and Grammy-winning producer and songwriter has signed with Grand Central Publishing for 93′ Til Infinity, which is slated for 2023.
Ronson said he will write a combination memoir, DJ degree and New York party centered around the narrative of his favorite places and events.
This era was also the most exciting time in my lifeMark Ronson
“Before smartphones hit the dance floor and bottle service and VIP banquets shrunk the club, people in the ’90s stayed in the same place all night dancing, floating, politics and partying like nobody was looking — rising hip-hop moguls, artists, rent-boys, models, posers, dancers and hard-working 9- to 5-year-olds are all rubbing shoulders,” Ronson said in a statement.
“At that point, New York was still the center of the music game and in the land of Biggie, Wu-Tang and Tribe, we celebrated them every night. More importantly, this era was also the most exciting time in my life.”
