Mark Zuckerberg opens local Facebook “Metaverse Shops” so you can live in his virtual world

MARK Zuckerberg opens physical “Metaverse Stores” to make it easier for people to access his virtual world.
That Meta Boss has hailed the metaverse as the future of technology – and believes brick-and-mortar stores could get the message across.
The Metaverse is like a collection of networked digital worlds which you can explore in many different ways.
Meta that owns Facebookrecently revealed plans to hire another 10,000 people to build the Metaverse.
Now the company is opening its first Meta Store this year.
The 1,550-square-foot store will open May 9 in Burlingame, California.

And Meta says it will allow buyers to “glimpse into the future” with the Metaverse.
“Once people experience the technology, they can appreciate it better,” said Martin Gilliard, Facebook’s new head of Meta Store.
“If we’ve done our job right, people should go and tell their friends, ‘You need to check out the Meta Store’.”
The shop will stock a number of metas of their own virtual reality and augmented reality products.
This includes the Meta Quest 2 Headset – formerly known as this Oculus Quest 2.
head first
The Quest 2 is a VR headset that immerses you in a virtual world.
This gives access to Meta’s own Metaverse apps – including Horizon, which allows users to create and visit worlds in a multiplayer environment.
And there are many third-party providers Oculus apps and games to enjoy too.
Shoppers can experience the bizarre sci-fi metaverse at the Meta Store.
Then, if they’re impressed, they could buy a Meta Quest 2 headset, accessories, or one of these Facebook portal screens instead of this.
“The Meta Store will help people make that connection of how our products can be the gateway to the Metaverse in the future,” explained Martin.
“We don’t sell the Metaverse in our store.
“But hopefully people will come in and go out and know a little bit more about how our products are going to help them connect to that.”
Tech giant Facebook has already poured billions of dollars into building the “metaverse” — and recently promised to hire another 10,000 people to work on the project.
Billionaire Zuckerberg has previously revealed how you can live soon virtual facebook houses – an early stage of the metaverse.
And the Harvard dropout previously shared how he would like citizens to be able to metaverse earn their living in the virtual world.
But some have warned that the Metaverse could be dangerous for children and create a nightmare of sexual abuse.
Despite criticism, tech mogul Zuck has dubbed the metaverse “the next version of the internet.”
“It’s not about spending more time in front of screens. It’s about making the time we’re already spending better,” Zuckerberg, 37, said of his vision for the metaverse.
Speaking to journalists including The Sun, Facebook VR CEO Andrew Bosworth described the company’s bold vision.
“The Metaverse is a series of 3D virtual spaces where you can share immersive experiences with each other when you can’t be together,” Bosworth explained.
“What comes after the internet? Instead of looking at a screen, you can immerse yourself in the experiences.
“You don’t have to experience it in VR. Most people will first experience it on screens they already have.”

The Meta Store is located at 322 Airport Blvd in Burlingame, California.
It will be open to the public beginning May 9, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
