A Marks & Spencer employee has sent many people into hysterics after conducting a quality check at the store and spotting a “cheeky” tomato she felt was too inappropriate to sell

An M&S employee experienced a cheeky surprise during a quality check in the salad department of her store.
What should have been an everyday chore quickly turned into hilarity when she came across an adult tomato.
Safety adviser Maxine Baker, from Harrow, north-west London, couldn’t believe her eyes when she came across the ‘rude’ tomato, which she said resembled a woman’s privates a lot.
Shocked and ‘bursting out’ with laughter, Maxine decided the fruity product was just way too sexy for M&S’s family-friendly aisles, so she took it home and popped it straight into the freezer.

Maxine, 52, recalls: “Oh my god, it’s hilarious, it’s tomato sauce. I was doing quality checks on the tomatoes and selecting them and I just went absolutely nuts.
“I just burst out laughing when I saw that. I showed it to a colleague and she did the same thing. It’s brilliant, love it.
“I have a really good sense of humor and I like slapstick and that was really my thing, so I was like, ‘I have to let everyone see it.’
“I keep making up these stupid things like ‘Now I know where cherry tomatoes come from’ and ‘Now I know what our tomatoes do at night when the store is closed’.”
The mum of two, who has worked at the M&S store near her home in Pinner for the past seven years, knew she couldn’t keep the item on the shelves.
Maxine explained, “I made the decision myself, you couldn’t sell it like that. I don’t think anyone would sell it, but I showed it to a few co-workers and also to my boss, who also thought it was hilarious.”
She continued, “Everyone I show it to just collapses and their hand goes to their mouth in embarrassment. I took it off the display and brought it home and put it in the freezer to keep because I have to keep it, I just love it.
Going forward, Maxine has promised never to eat the tough tomato herself because she finds it “too sweet and sweet.”
She added, “I have a really good sense of humor and I like slapstick and that was really my thing, so I was like, ‘I have to let everyone see it.'”
