Line of Duty star Martin Compston has teamed up with a former newspaper editor to launch a new podcast named after the hit 1980s Scottish classic Restless Native.
His audio program will hear Scottish star and former Scotland Sun editor Gordon Smart, who have known each other for 15 years, talk about their friendship, family and the experiences they have had during their marriage. respective industry.
They will explore the topic of fame, dealing as parents and husbands in the film and media industries, and reveal the “master plan” to launch their own business. their own.
The couple said each week they’ll be calling contacts they’ve made along the way to help inspire each episode.
Greenock-born Compston says: “Just something the world doesn’t need — an actor different from a podcast.
“Seriously, we’ve been talking about this for so long, now it’s actually happening.
“In the spirit of the original movie, we had big dreams and ideas, now it’s time to start. I am very excited about it. “
Restless Native is a 1985 Scottish adventure comedy film, directed by Michael Hoffman and written by Ninian Dunnett.
The film follows two Edinburgh teenagers, played by Vincent Friell and Joe Mullaney, who become local heroes and tourist attractions after they begin robbing buses on motorbikes, armed with sneeze powder and wear a funny mask.
Mr Smart added: “I am shamelessly riding on the tail of a national treasure.
