Martin Compston reveals why The View frontman missed his wedding

Martin Compston has revealed that singer Kyle Falconer was in prison the day he sang at the actor’s wedding.
ine Of Duty star Compston told his Restless Natives podcast how the head of The View would sing an unreleased song as his fiancée Tianna Chanel Flynn walked down the aisle 2016.
Compston said: “Kyle Falconer, lead singer of The View, is a great friend of mine. He has a good song he sang when he was 15 years old called I Love You and I don’t think he ever released it.

“I just love the innocence of it, like a 15-year-old singing about love and all that.
“I played it to her before we got married and she said ‘so beautiful’.
“So I said, why don’t we let him sing for you because he’s going to be there anyway.
“He said, ‘I definitely will.’ But with Kyle there’s always a warning, and he’s been in Spain before and I’ve gone, this could be… pear shaped.
“So on the day of the wedding I heard he wasn’t going to land so I had a backup singer just in case.

“Then my phone rang and it was Kyle and he said, ‘man, I have good news and bad news.’
“I said what is the good news? He said, ‘I think I’m going to get married.’ I say what is the bad news? He said, ‘I’m in prison in France.’
“So I said, I don’t think you’re making it a little man, lots of love, hope it works out well, see you another time.”
Compston, who hosts the podcast with his friend and journalist Gordon Smart, was also asked if he feels “pressured” for his next project following the success of his recent TV series. BBC Mayflies or not.

The actor replied, “I mean, it’s a blessing, I’m glad it’s going so well. And like I said, it became a career highlight. But you’re right, it just puts pressure on the next person.”
