Arsenal player Martin Odegaard has reflected on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s free move to Barcelona after he was stripped of the captaincy and dropped from the team

Martin Odegaard admits it’s “always sad” to see teammates gone – but he’s confident Arsenal could sublimate in front of goal without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Odegaard insists everyone has to score on the scoresheet and there are no “problems” in post-Aubameyang Arsenal’s attack.

“I think everyone needs to help each other and create opportunities for each other, and help each other in front of goal.
“I’m sure we have the qualities in this team to score a lot of goals.
“Of course, it’s an area where we want to improve and we have to do a little bit better but I’m sure we have the quality in the team and the way we play.
“I’m sure we’ll create chances, so I don’t see that as a problem.”
Although Odegaard is optimistic about Arsenal’s potential on the pitch without Aubameyang, he confesses that it is never good to see a colleague leave the pitch for a new pitch.
The 23-year-old added: “I think it’s always sad when players leave the club but it’s up to the manager and the club to make those things happen.
“Then we have to focus on the players who are here and I think we have a strong team and an interesting team.
“We need to focus on the players who are here and continue to improve and use our qualities.”
Odegaard has impressed as the No 10 for Arsenal this season with four goals and four assists, while his fellow attacking midfielders also shine.
Emile Smith Rowe is the club’s top scorer with 9 goals and Bukayo Saka has 7 goals and 4 assists.
