Martine McCutcheon has much to celebrate in 2022.

But she has found ways to take control of her health, which has given her more energy to follow her dreams and her 7-year-old “miracle child” Rafferty, who was conceived despite the odds. fertility problems.
“I think it takes a long time to figure out what your own recipe is,” she told Love Sunday magazine.
“It took me a long time to go through all the stuff out there and just do what works for me.
“So it’s not just crazy dieting. I just feel that it’s really important to encourage women to be the best version of themselves.”
Martine says she doesn’t follow a specific diet to stay healthy but has a simple trick to stay in shape.
“The 80/20 rule is what works for me,” she says.

“For 80% of my week, I mostly just eat healthy proteins, veggies and fruits, organic juices and veggies, and Flora ProActiv spreads.
“And then I’ll enjoy 20% of the time – I’ll have that slice of pizza, chocolate, or G&T cake to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I’ll do it because I know that most of the time. week, I’m doing good things for my heart.”
Martine also walks 40 minutes a day for exercise.
“I go for walks with my dogs every day – it’s great for my head and my health,” she says.
“Normally, I’ll be getting ready for the post-school break ready to go in my trainer with the dogs in the back of the car.
“Then I would go straight to the woods. When we lived in London, I would walk to the parks or walk on the treadmill in the gym, but it wasn’t as satisfying as it is now.
“We now live in rural Surrey. I have a lot of nicer spaces around me where I have time to breathe. I like to walk about 40 minutes.”

Martine has fibromyalgia, a condition that causes widespread pain and extreme fatigue.
And she takes cold showers to help combat the condition.
“Not every day, but I have one when I can,” she said.
“Finally I’ll take a cold shower [of a hot shower] and stay there as long as you can.
“It really makes me feel like I used to be a WD-40.”
Martine and her husband Jack will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary this September.
“I have a partner who is very strong and quiet, but always supportive to succeed in his own way,” she says.
“He’s a producer and musician, so he knows the industry well, but he’s got his own success and his own confidence, and
he loves to help me shine.
“I’m very lucky to have met someone like that, because in our industry you can meet people who are competing with you or they don’t understand the industry. So for me, it’s the cocktail. perfect.”
The couple share a 7-year-old son who Martine says is “the best thing that ever happened to me”.
She explained: “Rafferty was a miracle baby. I was told I couldn’t have children and when I tried IVF they said, ‘No, you can’t have children. “
“Then they said, ‘We don’t know how you got him!’ They said the same thing to my mother and she had two kids, so obviously we were very, very lucky with our little miracles, because I knew it was a struggle. I’m biased, but Rafferty is a very special soul.”
