Martyn Ford has signed a consulting deal with Daniel Kinahan after his fight with the Iranian Hulk was called off last week.
The British star was due to make his boxing debut against the Iranian Hulk – real name Sajad Gharibi – at the O2 on April 30. but the event was shelved. Now he is looking for a new opponent and Fans have suggested he faces Thor Bjornsson instead.
His next steps will be guided by boxing consultant Kinahan, who has been named in a US High Court as a member of an organized crime group accused of drug smuggling. Ford announced the deal Instagram with the caption: “Anyone who knows me knows how much work I put into training before my debut fight is not happening now.
“My passion and hunger for the sport grew with every training session and I truly immersed myself in the sport, surrounding myself with top fighters and learning every day when the chance opportunity arose to meet the most powerful man in the sport, Daniel Kinahan. to meet, that was a piece of cake for me.
“Anyone who knows boxing knows the importance of this man and his passion for the sport, he works with every promoter in the game and literally every fighter I’ve spoken to told me he was the man to work with who I would have to speak to if I wanted to take this seriously.
“We talked for a long time and started to work on a plan and I am pleased to announce that I have signed a consulting contract with him where he will help shape my path in boxing and guide me in the right direction, and I’m really excited for what’s to come. Together we mean business.”

Kinahan was subject to US sanctions, including a freeze on all financial assets along with the rest of the accused group, after he was declared a “threat” to the economy.
“The Kinahan Organized Crime Group smuggles deadly narcotics, including cocaine, into Europe and poses a threat to the entire legal economy through its role in international money laundering,” Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E. Nelson said in a statement.
Ford remained enormously frustrated after the cancellation of his proposed fight and feels he “gave up six months of his life” to train for the event. The British star suggested that Gharibi Blame for the short notice cancellation of the event during a video statement.
