Ford and Hulk were due to clash later this month, but their fight has now been removed from the map

Martyn Ford has announced that he will no longer face the Iranian Hulk on April 30th.
The two heavyweights were due to clash last weekend before the fight was postponed by four weeks. And Ford has now confirmed another delay, casting doubt on whether the fight will ever be postponed.
The event at London’s O2 Arena is still ongoing and will include former guests Manchester United and French defender Patrice Evra, who will make his debut against YouTube star Adam Saleh. Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara will also be in action as he makes his own ring bow.
But Ford admitted he’s in the dark about when he’ll climb through the ropes, saying in a video: “This is a statement I didn’t want to make public but unfortunately my fight is being postponed. The event is still on, it’s just my fight.
“The event will still happen and there are some great people and fights. Unfortunately mine will not be one of them for reasons beyond my control. It doesn’t take a genius to figure them all out. I don’t want to talk about it, too much time and energy has been wasted.
“I’m still training hard, there will be a debut. There will be a fight, I’m just not 100% sure who, when or why, but it will happen.”
Ford and Hulk – real name Sajad Gharibi – had a long-standing rivalry that began with a suggestion that they face each other in the MMA cage. Gharibi also offered to take part in a bare knuckle boxing match, but eventually it was agreed that they would meet in the ring.
In an Instagram post, Ford added: “Obviously, I am very disappointed that my fight against the Iranian Hulk is no longer going ahead, especially given that I have devoted so much time to my training program and have done everything to ensure that I’m in the best possible shape to override the event.

“Although I will no longer be involved, I now look forward to attending the Boxstar Celebrity Boxing event as a fan and showing my full support to the brave participants, some of whom will be taking part in a boxing match for the first time in their lives.
“I want to thank my fans for their continued support and hope to return to the ring in a competitive character as soon as possible.”
A replacement bout is to be announced in due course.
