Marvel Snap weakens the game’s strongest card – and boosts a fan favorite
MARVEL SNAP has released its 11.18 update that will transform competitive play on the most popular map.
Fixed general performance issues and made changes to two cards in hopes of players changing their decks.
The Leader card received a significant nerf after being overused in a number of decks.
Leader used to copy all of your opponent’s cards on the field.
This was especially strong at the end of the game and almost secured the user victory.
Since the update, Leader only copies the cards in the spot to his right, making it a third of what it used to be.
The team was unhappy with Leader’s effect on the game, as it prevented the use of other powerful cards.
The update reads, “We’re not happy with some of the card choices and play patterns he’s promoting, particularly his strength against some other cool 6-cost cards.”
One of Marvel’s most popular heroes, Wolverine, saw little in the Marvel Snap, which the developers are hoping to fix.
The team said: “Wolverine is watching virtually no game at the moment, which is a shame given his icon.”
Once destroyed, Wolverine gains a +2 buff to its power, making it a popular card.
Many players use destruction decks that rely on destroying your own cards so they can come back stronger.
The new buff will make Wolverine one of the strongest cards for this type of game, and the developers expect it to see a lot more use.
Marvel Snap will also introduce Battle Mode, a new mode that lets you choose who you play against.
Currently, matchmaking is done based on your level, hoping to match you with random other players with your skills.
Soon you’ll be able to challenge friends and family to a game of Marvel Snap, regardless of the level difference.
