Marvel Snap’s major update finally lets you face off against friends and the leader gets a slap in the face
Down with the evil green man!
Second Dinner just dropped a new one big update for Marvel Snap, and it’s definitely exciting. This update was teased earlier this month when the developers revealed that Battle Mode would be coming to the game on January 31st. Well, it’s finally here, and players can now create and join rooms with a code and battle each other without fear of losing ranks.
Additionally, this update brings two balance changes. First off, leader has been changed to a 6-cost, 7-power card, with the effect of copying all cards your opponent played this turn, but only to the right of leader. This forces you to think a little more strategically about where to play Leader while also making it less frustrating to lose to the map.
Wolverine also got a surprise buff in Marvel Snap with this patch. It’s still a 2-cost, 2-power card, but each time it’s discarded or destroyed, it spawns in a random location with +2 power. This at least makes it a much more playable card, and it should start seeing more play in both the Discard and Destroyed deck archetypes.
Finally, this patch also includes the first downgrade in the series that we’ve seen in game since December. Luke Cage, Absorbing Man, Titania, and She-Hulk have been moved to Series 3, while Super Skrull, Shuri, Valkyrie, Bast, and Black Panther have been moved to Series 4.
Marvel Snap is available now on PC and mobile.
