Retail guru Mary Portas has made a massive about-face, urging people to stop buying new clothes to save the planet.
The woman, who built her career on flogging fashion – and rose to fame on TV show Mary Queen of Shops – has even urged designer fanatic Kim Kardashian to support secondhand shopping.
Mary, 61, says she was inspired by a young generation passionate about saving the world’s resources.
She said, “How can we use this? One of the great things would be if the Kim Kardashians would stand up to the world and say, “Don’t buy anything new.” That would fucking help.”

Mary saw the light during lockdown when she turned 60 and divorced wife Melanie Rickey.
She now helps start businesses where women can enjoy success and family life.
The mother-of-three loves it when co-workers say they’re going to pick up their kids as it’s so different from her previous career.
She told the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast: “I remember being in a board meeting where they bored me the tts — all men, for hours — and had to pretend to run to the bathroom with it I could call the nanny.”
