MASKED Singer fans believe a series of “obvious” clues have revealed Mushroom as the star of Doctor Who.
Viewers of the ITV show have guessed that the person behind the outfit could be comedian Catherine Tate, singer Charlotte Church, favorite Ab Fab Jane Horrocks, and Irish actress Aisling Bea.

But now they think it was actress Alex Kingston, who played River Song in the hit BBC drama for seven years.
A person has come Reddit to share why, including how Mushroom’s song choice made them think it was her.
They point out: “If you’re a fan of Doctor Who, you know her first episode was ‘Silence in the Library’ and her first song was oh so quiet.
“Sometimes I am known to spring up in a more serious forest” could refer to the actual revelations about her character that were given in the episode “Forrest of the dead”.
The user also pointed out that there were “other references to her character”.
They continued: “Digging deeper is a reference to archeology.
“Starting a new life is because she can reincarnate.”
Reddit user, whose name is Acceptable, also pointed out that during her second performance, she was holding a fairy tale book – and Alex read one to a younger audience on Bedtime Stories in 2013.
67% of followers on the thread agree it could be Alex.
Alex rose to fame in 1980 after playing Jill Harcourt on Grange Hill.
She went on to star in many other television shows and films including The Bill, Foreign Affairs and CSI.
The star then played River Song in Doctor Who from 2008 to 2015.
Her alternate self is the third incarnation of Melody Pond and the wife of the Doctor.
Since her role in Doctor Who ended, Alex has played in Shoot the Messenger, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and most recently A Discovery of Witches.
On Saturday night, Mushroom sang the hit There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the musical Grease – leaving the judges completely confused about her identity.
The character teases: “There aren’t many places where you won’t find mushrooms. I am so lucky to be able to leave my forest and grow my own crops in many interesting places.
“It’s been great to be a part of the action, and I’ve seen so many places. Honestly, I can never capture it all but I try to do it all in my walk. ”
They also say, “I just want to bring peace and love, man.”
Judges Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan had to scratch their heads after the performance.
Their predictions included Rebel Wilson, Sia, Vicky McClure and Greta Thunberg.
