Mason Alexander spin-out seeks EUR 2 million in funding round

Enable, a platform that helps tech companies hire engineering talent and emerged from Dublin-based recruiter Mason Alexander, is raising a €2 million seed round to accelerate its growth in the US.

nable was formed amid the growing need for remote on-demand software development teams in the wake of the pandemic. The Enable platform connects product developers with innovative, high-growth companies.

The company was spun off from Mason Alexander, which was co-founded by Andrew Lynch in 2013 and counts former Irish rugby star Rob Kearney as a non-executive director.

In conversation with the Sunday independentLynch said the €2 million seed round from strategic investors would help strengthen its existing sales and marketing teams in New York, San Francisco and Europe.

“We founded Enable because we were driven by creating a platform that empowers people to accelerate their careers and not be constrained by where they live,” he said. “In turn, companies, particularly those based in competitive locations, have great difficulty attracting and retaining software developers – our platform solves this for them.”

Enable is revenue-generating and typically partners with technology companies in the AD series funding rounds that are struggling to access the engineering supply to meet their needs.

The company currently has 2,000 engineers across Europe in its community, with four strategic centers in Romania, Croatia, Portugal and Poland. In addition, it has two distribution centers in the United States, New York and San Francisco.

According to Lynch, Enable’s ability to connect experienced remote engineers in Europe could provide a boost to high-growth technology companies.

“There are many advantages for companies; the flexibility to scale up and down, test new European markets, reduce costs (compared to US engineers) and ultimately make it easy to build and run remote engineering teams,” he said.

“We believe the addressable market is large, and with the right investors, this is a tremendously scalable opportunity. The economies of scale are clear.”
