Hosts Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin watched Hancock settle the trial, with Donnelly commenting: “You’ve had to hold your breath for a long time…”
Then he added: “Okay, let’s go down again, your stoma is smaller…”, McPartlin quipped: “What did you call him?” and Donnelly jokingly replied, “The stoma…”
The West Suffolk MP joined the cast of the reality show on Wednesday after facing much criticism of his decision from the public and fellow politicians.
His arrival in the woods was met with a mixture of astonishment, disbelief, and uncontrollable laughter from his campmates.
That episode drew an average of 7.9 million viewers, up from last year’s equivalent episode of 2.1 million, according to overnight figures from ITV.
Immediately upon arrival, he took on the Beastly Burrows Bushtucker Challenge with late-entry friend Seann Walsh – before being re-selected by the public to face a second face.

Speaking to Kay Burley on Sky News, he said: “He should be here with us voting and debating in Parliament.”
He added: “So I know the format of the show. I believe there are quite a few people in a building not too far from here, the House of Commons and the House of Commons, who have downloaded a certain app so they can vote. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.
“I read this morning what he said about how he wants to prove that all MPs are human, and that’s true, you know, it’s true. All MPs are human, but I think we do it every day in our constituencies and what we do in Parliament.”
On Wednesday’s episode, comedian Walsh, who made headlines in 2018 when he was photographed kissing his married co-star Katya Jones, laughed heartily after meeting Hancock in the woods.
He later exclaimed in the Bush Telegraph “Matt Hancock!” before laughing more.
Hancock caused further stir when he entered the main camp, with many of the show’s famous faces being shocked to see the MP, who had his Conservative Party whip removed after announcing his plans to join program.
After they arrived, radio DJ Chris Moyles visited the Bush Telegraph and said, “Oh my, two new people have arrived.
“One of them is Seann Walsh and the other – I have to go back and check again.”
Also speaking in the Bush Telegraph, soap star Sue Cleaver said: “I don’t know what to say.”
Later, in a one-on-one exchange with Hancock, Loose Women star Charlene White asked him, “Why are you here?”
“Because, honestly, there’s very little that politicians can show that we’re human,” Hancock replied, prompting White to flash a skeptical look.
Hosts McPartlin and Donnelly also saw Hancock’s appearance as an opportunity to poke fun at UK politics and joke with Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
“I’m not sure how Matt will cope in the camp,” McPartlin said.
“You know, there’s people around who don’t know what they’re doing, they’re doing it and just trying to get ahead day by day.”
Hancock and Walsh let their campmates down a bit after winning only six out of 11 stars in the Beastly Burrows challenge.
Political watchers joined regular viewers to watch Hancock’s appearance on Wednesday, while several political opponents attacked the MP again for his decision to enter the woods. ta.
The Liberal Democrats Twitter account said: “Never mind #ImACeleb and trying to win a meal for a camp in the woods, Matt Hancock should be in the UK, in his office and delivering to those in need. Voters are wondering where their next meal will come from.
“You are not a celebrity. You are a congressman with a job to do. “
