Former UK health minister Matt Hancock will join I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Jungle tonight, it’s confirmed.
The 44-year-old is expected to join the original contestants in the camp after spending some time in isolation.
It is understood his entrance will be teased by co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly on tonight’s show.
Following her decision to star in the reality series, Hancock hung the Tory whip and came under criticism from across the political divide for choosing to sign up at a time when the UK parliament was sitting.
Hancock has been given access to a laptop during the isolation, allowing him to continue working and stay in touch with voters.
Comedian Seann Walsh, who has been widely reported as a second surprise join, is also expected to join the campsite shortly.
It comes after former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood was forced to withdraw from the ITV show for “medical reasons” after just a day in the woods.
ITV said the 31-year-old was told by the program’s medical team that it was not safe to return to the camp.
Attwood said “heartbreak is an understatement” after starting his journey home in the UK.
Her early departure earned her one of the shortest stints in the camp, closely resembling EastEnders actress Elaine Lordan, who in 2005 dropped out after two fainting spells within 24 hours of her arrival.

Ahead of tonight’s show, ITV shared a trailer of comedian Babatunde Aleshe facing a fear of heights for the second time after withdrawing from the skyscraper challenge in the premiere episode.
The standing structure was challenged to collect nine stars in 10 minutes by navigating around a rotating metal structure suspended in the air in the pouring rain.
Smiling broadly, Donnelly told him: “I’m sorry to say it’s starting to fall but it’s still safe. It’s just going to make things a little harder.”
In Sunday’s premiere, Attwood was selected by the public to be the Jungle VIP – a Very Isolated Person – along with radio DJ Chris Moyles, TV presenter and real estate expert Scarlette Douglas and the star Boy George Cultural Club star.
The show has returned to the Australian jungle for the first time since 2019 after the show was filmed at Gwrych Castle in North Wales for the past two years due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
McPartlin and Donnelly confirmed on Sunday two more people would be arriving at the camp shortly, including Hancock, joking that they would be “rolling out a welcome mat soon for them”.
I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! continues tonight on Virgin Media One at 9:15pm later
