Matt Lucas found himself on the other side of the table on tonight’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off – and ended up being ‘really nasty’
We’re used to seeing comedians make jokes and read challenges while watching the contestants go crazy grilling.
But he was forced to change sides on tonight’s celebrity special after one of the famous faces pulled out at the last minute.
Also being watched by presenter Noel Fielding, the Little Britain star faced criticism from judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Speaking of his experience, Matt said: “I was forced by my bosses to bake a cake at the last minute when one of the bakers wasn’t around.
He was up against DJ Annie Mac, comedian Ed Gamble and musician Example, who revealed Matt had replaced a former EastEnders actress.

When asked what happened by host Ranvir Singh on Lorraine on Monday, Example explained that he had been told that Martine McCutcheon would be participating but was not there that day.
Appearing live from Australia, he said: “I was told it was me, Annie Mac, Ed Gamble and Martine McCutcheon and I went there and Martine McCutcheon wasn’t there.
“So I’m pretty sure Matt Lucas got in at the last minute because he clearly intended to be one of the presenters.”
The Kickstarts hitmaker praised Matt for walking into the grill “unprepared” and revealed it was indeed a last-minute thing.
“I think it’s fair to play with him because a lot of people will think maybe he wants to do this and he doesn’t want to do it because he has no preparation,” the example explains.
“He found out the morning we started filming he was told ‘sorry you weren’t available today but you’re going to bake’ so he’s the real soldier in all of this. .”

Matt and the rest of the celebrities will compete to win the coveted Star Baker apron while also raising awareness about Stand Up To Cancer.
Though it doesn’t look like Matt will come out on top if tonight’s episode previews are anything to go by.
The contestant turned the presenter who appeared to be fiddling with her macaroons and darted nervously around the famous white tent.
The famous faces are also challenged with an incredible showstopper representing what they did before their fame, which obviously produces some pretty hilarious results.
In a scathing review of Matt’s baking endeavors, Paul insists Matt hasn’t learned a lot of culinary skills over the past two years as a host.
“If you look, you’ll realize…no. He’s got all the words but nothing to support it,” explains Paul. “He knows all the right things, but can’t put it all in the right order.”

Paul confesses that pressure has come on Matt throughout the competition and at one stage he was quite upset.
Paul said: “He was very worried. He had a bit of low back pain? He was really upset because something happened and it’s funny how it affects everyone.”
“It doesn’t matter where you’re from, stick them in the tent, and it’s all going to be a little…tense, it’s like being on an exam or doing your driving test or something. There you can just say something stupid or do something stupid.
“I think Matt, that got to him. You can see. And he knows us, we’re friends and he’s in a friendly environment, but he’s really nervous, let’s go. Bless him.”
More diplomatic, judge Prue added: “He didn’t make Paul bad. He had trouble with his macaroons.”
