Maya Jama replaces Laura Whitmore as Love Island host, reportedly

British TV presenter Maya Jama is being lined up to replace Laura Whitmore as host of Love Island, according to reports.

ama is said to be in final contract negotiations after broadcaster Bray decided to step back from the role at the end of the summer series.

The Irish star made time for her involvement in the series after saying she found the dense amount of travel involved “very difficult”.

Jama has long been rumored to be a hot ticket to host the show moving to South Africa in the new year.

She has demonstrated experience through several television shows including Walk the Line, Soccer Aid and co-presented Save Our Summer with Peter Crouch. She also presented the BBC’s Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star contest.

The savvy presenter also has her own skincare line and several endorsement products.

Whitmore announced his departure from Love Island as filming nears its end this summer.

She said: “Some news! I won’t host the next Love island show.

“There are a few elements of the program that I find very difficult to change due to the format, including flying back and forth to South Africa with my new conflict projects.

“I wish it was still possible but know you will be in safe hands. I was just going to fill in Caroline for one series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I’ve made you proud of Caroline. “
