Mediahuis starts searching for aspiring journalists for a new trainee program

Mediahuis, Ireland’s leading publisher of print and digital media, has launched a search for aspiring journalists to join the company’s Emerging Talent programme.

The brand new program offers people from all backgrounds a gateway to potential careers with the Irish Independent, Independent.ie, Sunday Independent, Belfast Telegraph, BelfastTelegraph.co.uk, Sunday World and Sundayworld.com.

Four places are available on the pilot scheme, which is part of Mediahuis Ireland’s commitment to diversity and a desire to make a positive contribution to people and society.

So if you think you have the passion and drive to be a leading journalist but just haven’t had the chance to get your foot in the door, then the Mediahuis Emerging Talent (MET) program could be the opportunity for you be.

Mediahuis is looking for four trainees to join the MET program and work with some of the best-known media brands on the island of Ireland.

The program spans our offices in Dublin, Belfast and 12 regional newspapers and is run by some of the industry’s most experienced journalists.

There are four roles available on the program – news reporter based in Dublin and Belfast, a feature writer and a video journalist.

Best of all, you don’t need a college degree or prior knowledge to apply. Successful candidates receive a two-year contract with a wide range of training and practical experience.
