Emmerdale viewers have been keeping an eye on Meena Jutla, ever since she first killed ITV soap last summer.
Since Leanna Cavanagh’s death, Meena murdered Ben Tucker and Andrea Tateat the same time confessed to the murder of a friend named Nadine.
Meena tried to kill Manpreet Sharma, Vinny Dingle and Victoria Sugden, and her latest plot makes her return to the village, after running away, to kill Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher.
Now, fans know that the character survived her death, with her now in the hands of the police.
But that’s not an easy way to capture the village villain, who has tried to escape justice time and time again.
This has resulted in a large number of failures by the police and villagers, as viewers have pointed out over the past year.
Here’s a look back at some of the biggest mistakes that happened in the killer’s plot…
Viewers commented on the fact that Meena had been trying to commit her crimes undetected for months.
But this escalated when, despite being wanted by the police, she managed to return to the village and wreak havoc.
All last week, she was shown spying from afar as Dawn and Billy walked around, and faced the turmoil of recent developments.
Meena sneaks into their house and destroys Dawn’s wedding dress, but also Try to get into the vet and shuffle her work.
Fans are confused about how she did this so easily and no one noticed heralthough she is not so well hidden.
Similarly, she has stalked residents in the past, and despite being exposed, she remains hidden – including when she sneaked into The Hide before killing Ben, and when she Follow Billy and Dawn to a park, where they talk to Alex about Lucas.
Most recently, she was able to attack Harriet, kidnap Lucas, Attack a limousine driver and steal the carknock out Billy with a potion, then kidnap Dawn and take them both to the viaduct, all within an hour or so – and again undetected by a single villager.
There are some questions about Meena leaving DNA at her crime scene, especially since all of them went unplanned.
Meena chased poor Leanna to death around the village and to the bridge, before knocking her over.
Leanna grabbed Meena by the hair, and after she fell Meena soon steals her ring from her dead body – but there don’t seem to be any hairs or fingerprints left.
With Andrea, the labyrinth burned in flames so it was possible all evidence was destroyed – while it’s unclear what happened to Nadine.
As for Ben, she was wearing gloves when she committed the crime, but again there are doubts her hair may have been left at the scene, given the fact that she fell after drinking. Red wine.
Despite putting on the gauntlet, she managed to get Ben’s blood on her gauntlet, that’s how they realized she was the killer, not Liv Flaherty.
The Great Escape
Viewers were confused last month, when Meena escaped from the village after her murder was exposed.
Even though Liam hit her head with a wooden plankShe got up and took it through the woods, and escaped from the police.
One shot shows an officer projecting their tracks towards Meena and Liam, but somehow they don’t see her and she tiptoes away.
She asked a trucker to go through the elevator and was able to flee the area and possibly the whole country.
Fans are confused as to how this can happenand how she got so far.
Viewers are equally confused as the characters are able to return to the village and leave the village in the same week, even though a dense police presence seems to have locked down the area, as Meena remains.
The police have been incorrect in their investigation of recent village deaths, allowing Meena to literally get away with murder.
From assuming Leanna’s death was an accident, to ignoring Andrea’s case and even arresting the wrong person for Ben’s murder, things don’t go well.
With Andrea’s case, even though they question Meena, they still believe someone killed her – even though it was just the couple and Priya Sharma in the maze.
They then decide there is no bad game, and Meena can attack again – this time she kills Ben.
However, the police were willing to arrest Kim Tate for Andrea’s death, according to Meena’s words saying they had an argument.
Similarly, they arrested Liv for killing Ben even though there was no actual proof that she did it, again allowing Meena to get away with the crime.
Fans were quick to point out that when Vinny confirmed Liv’s innocence to the detective and that Meena told Manpreet what she did, they were rather conflicted with their response.
Detective said there is no real proof Meena did it and therefore Liv cannot be freed – however they didn’t have solid proof that Liv was guilty in the first place.
Other mistakes that fans pointed out were the fact that they missed Meena’s escape, and then didn’t notice her sneaking around the village either.
Somehow Liam was able to find her and push her off a bridge before the police were on the scene, and not exactly the biggest investigation took place in the village after the crime. Hers was initially exposed.
They were in no hurry to talk to Manpreet when she awoke from her coma, even though she was the only one who received a confession – and when she returned to the village, it appeared the officers were walking around with clipboards, rather than examining the documents. location and find evidence.
The victim slipped
According to viewers, Meena’s victims and nearby victims did not help themselves.
Fans called out Leanna’s name tragically last year when she ran through a graveyard and out of the village, rather than running through the village to sound the alarm when Meena chased her.
Similar, Andrea runs towards and through the maze to try to get rid of Meena and warn the other villagers about her trying to drown Victoria.
Poor Ben returned to The Hide to help the seemingly injured Meena during their match, and it cost him her life when she caught him by surprise.
Fans are furious that he didn’t call the police or just left with the damn footage of Meena.
When Manpreet was detained at Wendy’s house, she kept banging on the window – but fans say she should try to smash it.
There’s also the fact that Meena has been weird since the very beginning, but no one thought for a second she could be behind the crime.
Noah monitored her behavior and even found a creepy box containing the booty of her victims, but he remained unaffiliated and kept quiet – even after she threatened him.
Vinny didn’t really help himself when he started stalking her, believing her to be Ben’s killer, but he didn’t tell anyone where he was going or why – and even said tells Meena that he has a phone on him.
Fast forward to this day, and the residents are still making mistakes as what viewers have asked.
After being kidnapped, Dawn and Billy have a chance to tame Meena together when she turned her back on them twice, but they did nothing.
When they finally brought her to the ground, Billy threw the gun into the river instead of clinging to it – and at no time did they steal her phone to call for help.
Even their relatives at the wedding party didn’t call the policealthough they suspect their disappearance is due to a serial killer.
When Dawn made it back to the village, she didn’t call for help, but instead continued to search for her missing son.
Manpreet, who was kidnapped by Meena a month before, walking around the village alone even though her sister was released.
Viewers also pointed out that last week, everywhere seems to be unlocked for Meena to just step in and cause havoc.
