Storyblok is an enterprise CMS for developers and marketers to deliver content experiences on any digital platform. It’s the world’s first headless CMS truly designed for both developers and marketers.
Storyblok allows content to be accessed via an API for viewing on any device and channel, and leverages a visual editor to preview changes in real-time. In short, users can publish and reuse their content across multiple channels with minimal effort, without the risk of posting outdated or duplicate content, and rest assured that it will appear optimally for each channel, as they have full control over that layer to have .
Storyblok works for companies of all sizes, but it’s especially useful for large companies with multiple communication channels. Our customers include Wüsthof, Deliveroo, UPC, Greggs and Marc O’Polo, as well as tens of thousands of individual developers.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
My co-founder Alexander Feiglstorfer and I both worked for an agency where we saw firsthand how many companies struggle to bring marketing and IT together well. Technological solutions seemed to be able to help only one group at the expense of the others. This of course led to frustration and wasted a lot of time and money.
When we learned that the enterprise CMS we were working with at the time had discontinued its services and a replacement was needed, we quickly realized that there was a major gap in the market to develop something that was technologically advanced but marketed by marketing professionals could easily be used.
We solved this problem with Storyblok – it’s one of the most technologically advanced CMS solutions on the market, but also the most user-friendly. As a result, businesses save a lot of time, money and effort as they can manage all their communication channels in the most efficient way without having to train a team of highly technical users.
How has the company developed in recent years?
We’ve seen amazing growth. Starting with a handful of small clients in 2019, we have grown to more than 110,000 projects in 130 countries and have seen enterprise client growth sixfold in 2020. In 2021 we even expanded our team from 24 to 150 employees. We are now working with some of the world’s largest companies on a variety of projects.
Since we’ve always been remote, our team now has a presence in numerous countries around the world.
What can we expect from Storyblok in the future?
Without giving too much away, we should see a major update of our platform with a range of new solutions the market has never seen before – it could be a game changer for our industry. Our intention is to roll this out across Europe and then to international markets.
Storyblok’s goal is to become the world’s largest enterprise CMS. This may sound crazy, but we’re on the right track and I think it’s important to be as ambitious as possible for your team and your company. Aiming high means you are constantly pushing yourself to be better.
For me, the most exciting thing about this destination is the journey. How we get there, what we build and who we work with and for will make the next few years incredible.
