Meet the decoration robot that can spray an entire wall by itself

A ROBOT painter and decorator was invented by Dulux to cope with the lack of people.
The company has spent millions to invent a high-tech machine that can spray an entire wall by itself.
‘Paco’, due to be operational next year, will come with a 3D scanner to create a digital model of the space to be painted.
The data is passed to the bot, which gets on with the work while humans do the trickier work.
Paco was developed by Les Companions, a French start-up company invested by Dulux owner AkzoNobel.
Antoine Rennuit, who runs Les Companions, told The Sun on Sunday: “Paco’s mission is to do the most boring or least challenging tasks.
“But you still need a human touch.”
AkzoNobel UK head Jose Antonio Jimenez Lozano said they were investing in the technology as they were concerned about the lack of available labour.
He said: “Particularly in the UK we are seeing a huge shortage of painters. We are really concerned.”
He said Covid has seen many people change jobs while Brexit led to a drop in workers from the EU.
A survey by the Dulux Decorator Center shows 61 UK painting and decorating companies are struggling to find staff.
Despite the shortage, 40 percent of businesses were busier than before the pandemic.
