TOWIE, Big Brother, The X Factor… It’s a unique route to performing at Glastonbury.
But reality TV artist Megan McKenna is determined to prove she’s well worth her Sunday audio show on Worthy Farm.
And she’ll channel Dolly Parton with her country set.
After winning the celebrity edition of The X Factor, Megan was the first contestant to hold the title to perform at the event – something former winner James Arthur dismissed as “conceited”. festival organizers.
Megan, who has recently supported Sir Tom Jones and Simply Red, said: “I have been rated really strongly for the past eight years.
“Everyone is allowed to have their opinion but that’s why people need to come and follow me, because their opinions will change. I have not done X Factor, before that I was also active in music as well as reality TV”.

However, the female singer – who writes all of her own songs – was in tears when she learned that she had won a place to attend the Somerset music concert. She said: “I cried when I heard about it.
“It proves that it doesn’t matter where you come from, as long as you have good music and you believe in yourself, you’ll make it.”

And, as Dolly demonstrated in 2014, country singers are taking the festival by storm, so Megan hopes her performance will attract some new fans.
She added: “I have some Swarovski studded cowboy boots from Nashville. But I’m ordering a welder – I might not be wearing cowboy boots in the field. ”
