Meghan Markle has a ‘moral obligation’ to mend relationship with father, sister says

Samantha Markle has accused her sister Meghan of “elder abuse” and asked her to help after her father suffered an alleged stroke.

Meghan Markle’s estranged sister has asked her sister to stop ‘watching and doing nothing’ after her father was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.

The 57-year-old sister claimed Meghan’s behavior was like “elder abuse” after she was accused of not having contacted her since news of Thomas Markle’s ill health broke.

The 77-year-old father had a rocky relationship with his daughter Meghan and often spoke out about her publicly.

He was struck down by a stroke where he lives in Rosarito, Mexico and lost his speech.

He is believed to be in a clinic just a few hours’ drive from where Meghan is currently living with Prince Harry.

Speaking on GB New, Samantha got emotional as she accused her own sister of “negligence.”

She said, “That’s him [Thomas] been through so much. Two heart attacks, a pandemic, and now a stroke. None of us have heard from Meghan – that’s negligence.

“If she can’t find it in her heart or has the moral conscience to step forward, then shame on her.

“He doesn’t have much time. She’ll have to live with that for the rest of her life.”

When asked if she thought Meghan could help with medical expenses, Samantha claimed she would “spin her wheels” if she tried to approach her now.

“She could have contacted him at any time to sort things out and she didn’t. How can she see him suffering like this? Who does that?”

After her father, Samantha is the latest member of Meghan’s family to speak out against the Duchess. She used the TV show to publicly attack her sister over such a personal issue.

Samantha flew from her home in Florida to the hospital near San Diego to see her father.

In footage shared online, Thomas can be seen on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask as two paramedics lift him up.

Continuing his long habit of becoming public thanks to his relationship with his daughter, Thomas was due to be in London next week as a TV guest during the anniversary celebrations.

However, his health seems to have prevented this.

He had a difficult relationship with his daughter, which he spoke about frequently in the media, and he had previously accused her husband, Prince Harry, of being “snotty”.

When he publicly announced last month that he was flying to the UK for the royal celebrations, he said he wanted to meet Harry and Meghan.

He added he wants to meet Prince Charles and joked that they were both “hosted by our own children.”
