The Duchess of Sussex’s “bulletproof” smile is “authentic” and “the real Meghan,” according to a body language expert.
Meghan Markle, 40, was recently spotted beaming as she strolled with William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Judi James, a leading expert on communication and body language, called the smile “beautiful and bulletproof” and said Meghan’s beaming grin hasn’t changed much since she was a child.
The expert said it was “not a performance that applied to her royal profile”.
Speak with Express.co.ukJudi added: “As her performance at St. Paul’s during the anniversary proved, she has a smile that is both beautiful and bulletproof.
“Not only does it look congruent and authentic on her good days, it can mask any underlying tension or sadness when she’s suffering internally.”
“What makes that smile look even more authentic is that it hasn’t changed much since she was a child.
“It’s not a feat applied to her royal profile: that upbeat, upbeat-looking facial expression is one she used years ago, suggesting this is the real Meghan.”
But Meghan, a former Hollywood actress, had moments when it was difficult to grin, Judi pointed out.

During a candid interview with ITV journalist Tom Bradby in 2019, Meghan’s smile “suddenly and shockingly” disappeared.
She was asked about her own mental health in relation to being a new mom.
And to do so, Meghan decided to “skip the royal ‘rule’ of never complaining and let the world know how she herself felt about life as a royal.”
Judi, who is also a writer, continued, “Her rather terse ‘thanks for asking’ is preceded by a total change in her facial expression. Her brows rise in a wry gesture, her smile droops, and her lower lip juts out.
“Her hands are stuffed in her pockets and when she speaks there is a slow clipped wink before making eye contact.
“There are long, thoughtful pauses before her mouth curves into a faint, asymmetrical smile.”
