Mel B receives birthday wishes from Spice Girls members as reunion rumors increase

Mel B turned 47 on Sunday and was delighted to receive touching tributes from all four of her Spice Girls bandmates

Mel B received touching tributes from all four Spice Girls members as she celebrated her 47th birthday on Sunday (May 29).

Band mates Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel C (Chisholm) all took to Instagram to wish ‘Scary Spice’ lots of fun again.

Emma shared the ‘then and now’ images of the star couple with the caption: “Happy birthday @officialmelb! I can call this strong, funny beautiful woman one of my best friends. How lucky I am. I love you baby, I wish you the best day. “

Mel C, meanwhile, sparked fans’ hopes of another reunion in the future as she also shared pictures of the pair from the ’90s and a second from more recent times.

She captioned the post: “Happy Birthday Melanie! Hope you have a great day. I can’t wait to share the stage with you again. Love ya xxx.”

Victoria posted a photo to her story taken at Mel B’s celebratory dinner after she was awarded her MBE, adding: “Happy birthday @officialmelb Kisses xx. “

Geri Halliwell weighed in with a few photos from the early days of 5 pieces, writing: “Happy Birthday! @Officialmelb Love you so much. Hope you have a great day!”

Leeds-born Mel was clearly moved by all the love she’s received for herself and has taken to Instagram herself to thank others’ well-wishes.

“Thank you for all your birthday wishes, I loved them so much,” she wrote.

“I don’t really like my birthday because my dad’s birthday was yesterday,” she said, referring to her father Martin Brown, who passed away in 2017.

She continued: “God rest his soul, I miss him beyond words, but it’s good that you’re celebrating your birth no matter what. So congrats. It’s my birthday. You too if it’s your birthday.”

Mel was awarded an MBE earlier this month for her charitable work in raising awareness about domestic violence and supporting vulnerable women.

After splitting from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte in 2017, she claimed she was abused – allegations that Belafonte has repeatedly denied.

She was greeted by Prince William, 39, who presented her with a Member of the British Empire medal – which she later proudly posed for pictures with outside the palace, smiling.
