Game: Mel B supports her daughter in the crowd

Mel B cheers on her daughter Phoenix as she competes in the first episode of The Games.

Spice Girl was seen beaming and holding a large banner in the crowd as Phoenix Gulzar-Brown debuted.

The influencer, who first made her modeling debut in a new campaign for George in Asda last March, is an interested basketball player.

Mel B, 46, who shares Phoenix with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, holds up a banner that reads: “Team Phoenix.”

Despite Phoenix’s athletic abilities, she admits it was harder than she expected.

She told the Daily Mail: “[It would’ve been easier] If I stuck with exercise. It is very difficult, but it is very painful.

Her mother was married to Jimmy for 16 months before they split in 2000.

She then dated Eddie Murphy for 9 months before meeting Stephen Belafonte.

Just two months after Mel gave birth to her daughter Angel and Eddie, she and Stephen married in Las Vegas.

However, Mel is stuck in an abusive relationship, and Phoenix says Stephen has turned their lives from technical color to black and white.

She said that Stephen banned her from going into the fridge except when she was making her own packed lunch.

But after making them, he would take them out and eat them, before calling her “ugly”.

She told the Daily Mail: “My mom was working all the time, making money for him – for the family. I know she’s going through a terrible time, she’s withdrawn.

“They’re going to have these horrible rows in their room, I’m standing outside like a petrification, feeling useless.”

Mel and Stephen divorced in 2017 and since then, the Spice Girl has shared about her experiences in her book Brutally Honest.

She and Phoenix became advocates for survivors of domestic abuse.

Mel recently received an MBE for her work as a patron for the charity Women’s Aid against domestic violence.

After receiving her gong from Prince William, she told The Sun: “William said to me, ‘I’m so glad I gave you this.

“I told him I had dinner with Victoria that night and he said, ‘Oh well, I’ll work with David then’.”

Mel was joined to the palace by her mother Andrea and the couple showed their support for their band mate Victoria by both wearing dresses she designed.
