Mercedes launches its new 7-seater electric SUV EQS

Mercedes presented its new SUV yesterday. The EQS will go on sale later in the year. It can accommodate up to seven people (with an optional third row of seats).
It is the third vehicle on the new all-electric platform. It has rear-wheel and model-dependent 4MATIC all-wheel drive, an OFFROAD driving mode and rear-axle steering.
It shares the long wheelbase (3210 mm) with the EQS sedan, but is 20 cm higher. Up to four golf bags fit in the trunk. The AIRMATIC air suspension is standard. The main focus in the cabin is the huge MBUX Hyperscreen, which only shows what you need to see – no information overload. And there’s a new Dolby Audio sound system.
Mercedes has significantly reduced drag with aero fairings, spoilers, new running boards, etc.
The car is made in the USA – as are the batteries. Power comes from a 107.8kWh battery that is set into the floor panel, giving a mostly flat floor. Estimated range is 396 km; Depending on the model, the power ranges from 265 kW to 400 kW.
