The beloved TV star recently thanked the NHS for ‘literally saving his life’ after undergoing ‘robot’ surgery.

In the midst of his battle with bowel cancer, Merlin shared a selfie from his hospital bed as he admitted he was suffering from ‘pain and pain’.

“Thank you #NHS for literally saving my life. #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth,” he wrote at the time.

“It’s 2 am. Tubes are coming out everywhere. Pain and soreness. But no tumors! #Bowelcancerawarenessmonth.”
