The German world champion is currently on the sidelines at Turkish giants Fenerbahce following a falling out with his coach, which has reportedly led him to look for a move

Champion club Hull City are reportedly one of the clubs chasing German world champion Mesut Özil.
The playmaker joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce in January 2021 after his eight-year stint at the club ended in sourness First League With arsenal. But he currently finds himself in hot water after being swiped dismissed from the squad indefinitely for alleged “verbal altercation”.
The German was involved in a dispute over interim manager Ismail Kartal. The club later tweeted: “Mesut Özil and Ozan Tufan have been sacked due to the decision made. It will be published.”
diary AS, a Spanish newspaper, is now reporting that Fenerbahce have started the process to annul Özil’s contract and that a potential new target is being considered.
One of those listed is Hull City, who are Turkish-owned, while MLS club Inter Miami – owned by David Beckham – is another name-verified club. The 33-year-old would be a bold coop for Hull, whose owner Acun Ilicali has big plans for the East Yorkshire club.
Ilicali, who took over the football club from the Allam family in January announced plans to take 500 supporters on vacation to Turkey this summer, which is a first for an English football club. Ilicali said a select group and their families will be sent on an all-inclusive trip to a five-star resort in Antalya.
Shortly after taking over, he said: “I can’t guarantee the future because in sport we can’t know the future, you can’t guess the results, but I can guarantee you’ll see the craziest things that owners have done in the history of football. We will be a family, the strongest family in football.”
Özil’s last appearance for Fenerbahce came on March 20 when he was delighted at half-time in the 2-1 win over Konyaspor. Left out of the squad in last weekend’s 4-0 win at Kayserispor, he will again miss Sunday’s grudge against strong rivals Galatasary.
Özil joined Fenerbahce in January 2021 after his Arsenal contract was mutually terminated. Before his ban, Fenerbahce’s club president Ali Koc said last year: “Since the beginning of this season, Mesut Özil has been compared to Robin van Persie. Özil wants to play more.
“From now on he needs to focus on his game and keep his commercial interests out. He needs to think about contributing to Fenerbahce. Our coach also needs to try to figure out how to get the best out of Ozil. There is. ” no problem, despite what the media says. Mesut is unhappy because he doesn’t play regularly.”
The midfielder has 26 months left on his existing contract and is reportedly earning £3.5m-a-year at Fenerbache.
