Met Éireann forecasts a mostly dry day with highs of 21C

Today will be a mostly dry day with only isolated showers and sunshine, Met Éireann has forecast.

The forecaster is predicting that conditions will be variable for much of the coming week with showers or rain showers most days.

Today will be cloudier near the south and southeast coasts for much of the morning and afternoon, with scattered rain and drizzle.

Highest temperatures range from 16°C to 21°C, coolest in the northwest, with a light southwesterly or changing breeze.

Tonight it will be cloudy overall and rain will spread across the country from the west and southwest overnight, becoming heavy in places.

It will be mild and humid, with lows generally between 11°C and 15°C, slightly milder near the south coast, with light to moderate south-easterly winds.

Monday started cloudy and wet with extensive rain showers, which became heavy in places.

Rain will gradually clear to the northeast as the day progresses, with sunny intervals and isolated showers following from the west.

The highest temperatures are between 18 °C and 22 °C with light to moderate westerly winds.

It will be cloudy overnight, with occasional rain showers and drizzle coming from the west.

Some patchy fog and mist will also develop, it will be mild and humid with lowest temperatures between 14°C and 17°C with a light to moderate southwest breeze.

Tuesday will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers, with showers being most common in the north and northwest.

Towards the evening it will become drier with broadened solar radiation. Highest temperatures range from 17°C to 22°C, coolest in the west and northwest with light to moderate westerly winds.

It will be a generally overcast night with outbursts of rain and drizzle being most persistent in the south east.

The lowest temperatures are between 10 °C and 14 °C, mildest in the south-east with light to moderate westerly winds.

Wednesday will be largely dry with long spells of sunshine, although scattered light showers are possible, especially in the north and west.

Highest temperatures range from 16°C to 21°C, warmest in the south-east with moderate westerly winds.

Thursday is currently expected to be a largely dry day with sunny spells and isolated showers.

However, it will later become cloudier, with later outbreaks of rain developing in the west and north-west, with maximum temperatures between 16°C and 20°C.
