Today will be mostly dry with a mix of clouds and sunshine, Met Éireann has forecast.

The national forecaster said conditions will be variable in the coming days, with intermittent rain and showers.

There will also be good dry spells, especially on Monday and Wednesday. Towards the end of the working week things get more restless.

Today there are isolated showers, especially in the north, with maximum temperatures between 13°C and 15°C with light to moderate south-west winds.

South to southwest winds will intensify throughout the evening along the Atlantic coast.

Tonight it will be windy and cloudy, but will initially be dry with a chance of rain later in the night in western areas.

Elsewhere you stay mostly dry. Southerly winds will be fresh and gusty with strong winds near the coast, especially in the west with lowest temperatures between 6°C and 11°C.

Sunday morning will be wet and very windy with rain and fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds spreading eastward to all areas with intermittent heavy rain.

In the afternoon, mostly dry and sunny conditions will follow from the north-west, with rain only slowly disappearing in the east and south-east.

Winds will turn to the northwest and ease with maximum temperatures between 12°C and 15°C.

The final rain will drive the southeast early in the night and will be mostly dry and clear.

It will be cool with low temperatures between 5 ° C and 9 ° C with mostly light to moderate westerly winds, at times fresher in the north and northwest with some showers there, possibly heavy or thunderstorms near the coast.

Monday will be a mostly dry day with some sunshine and only isolated showers in the north.

The highest temperatures are between 12°C and 15°C with light to moderate westerly breezes.

During the night it will be mostly cloudy with light rain and drizzle developing.

The lowest temperatures are between 5 °C and 9 °C, coolest over the eastern half of the country, with mostly light south-west breezes.

Tuesday will be a mostly cloudy day with rain and drizzle heaviest and most persistent in the west and north through the afternoon and evening.

Highest temperatures range between 11°C and 14°C with moderate south to south west winds freshening along the Atlantic coast as the evening progresses.

Overnight it is mostly cloudy with further rain showers, at times heavy falls are possible.

The lowest temperatures are between 8 °C and 11 °C with moderate south-west winds, fresher near the coast.

Wednesday will be a mostly wet and overcast morning with showers clearing to the east as the morning progresses, followed by sunshine and showers.

The highest temperatures are in the light to moderate northwest, between 12 °C and 15 °C.
