Met Éireann shares Ireland’s weather forecast for the rest of this week

Ireland will experience “very mild” conditions for the time of year along with stormy weather this week, Met Éireann said.

Wednesday morning will feature sunny intervals and scattered rain showers, with scattered showers becoming scattered throughout the day.

This afternoon it will become cloudier in the west with some patchy rain and drizzle, Met Éireann have forecast.

Wednesday will see highs of 11C to 14C with wind picking up near the west coast.

“Mild, humid and very windy with rain and drizzle becoming more persistent and sometimes heavier in the west in the afternoon [on Thursday].

“Highest temperatures of 14C to 16C with strong to near blustery and gusty southwest winds with intermittent gales along the west coast,” Met Éireann said.

Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, the national forecaster is forecasting very mild and blustery weather with persistent and occasional heavy outbreaks of rain with an ongoing risk of local flooding.

Friday will be another mild, cloudy and windy day with outbreaks of rain, heaviest over the western half of the country, with local flooding possible in hard-hit counties. Highs of 14C -16C degrees with mostly fresh and stormy southerly winds.

Rain will generally become lighter and patchier as Friday night progresses, with very mild overnight temperatures in the low teens.

In the afternoon there will be some sunny spells away from the wetter south coast. With highs again around 15C.

Sunday and early next week are expected to be mixed with rain and dry spells, with temperatures between 10C and 15C at times during the day. Met Éireann shares Ireland’s weather forecast for the rest of this week
