Ireland is forecast to be hotter than parts of Spain today as Met Éireann has forecast another dry and sunny day as temperatures are expected to hit highs of 18C.

Although most parts of the country will be dry and hazy sunshine developing for a long time, there will be some well-scattered showers later today in the northwest.

Highest temperatures range between 13°C and 18°C, with the Midlands, West and North West being the warmest.

These temperatures are higher than in some popular Spanish holiday destinations, such as Barcelona, ​​where temperatures reach just 13 degrees, Madrid with 12 degrees and Ibiza also with 12 degrees.

However, Tenerife and Lanzarote will match our temperatures today as Ireland experiences unseasonably warm weather.

Tonight will be mainly dry with only isolated showers, but will become cloudier overnight paving the way for a cloudier day tomorrow.

“Tomorrow, Thursday, will be a cloudy day across Connacht, Ulster and west Munster, with occasional drizzle,” the weather forecaster said.

“Dry somewhere else with sunshine and a light southerly breeze. Just the chance of coastal fog.

“Highest temperatures of 13°C to 17°C, warmest in the east and slightly cooler with cloudier conditions on the Atlantic margins.”

Friday will start cloudy again, but will become sunnier as the day progresses.

It will be mainly dry, with a chance of “a shower or two”, and highs of 13C to 17C.

For Saturday, the meteorologist said it will be “dry with sunny spells.”

They added: “Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, slightly cooler along the north and east coasts. Little change overnight, but possible overnight getting cold again with a touch of grass frost. There may also be some fog in the air.”

Sunday will also be dry and sunny with temperatures up to 17C, with “lots of dry weather also signaled for Monday and Tuesday but temperatures will fall back to average”.
